Principal Objective:
- To evaluate the efficacy of ASAQ (ASAQ Winthrop®) and artemether-lumefantrine (AL) (Coartem®) in children 6-59 months suffering from uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) malaria.
Secondary Objectives
- To assess the safety of ASAQ and AL in 6-59 months old children by documenting adverse events
- To measure the pharmacokinetic (PK) of desethyl-amodiaquine and lumefantrine at day 0 and day 7 (bioavailability differences possibly influencing efficacy).
