Bern-Thomas Nyang'wa

Bern-Thomas Nyang'wa, MD, MPH, is the Medical Director of MSF OCA and is responsible for the TB and HIV Working Groups. He is also the Chief Investigator of TB-PRACTECAL - a phase II-III RR-TB clinical trial pivotal in charge of the 2022 WHO guidelines for the treatment of rifampicin-resistant TB. He has extensive TB clinical, programmatic and research experience. He is a recipient of the 2022 Stephen Lawn TB-HIV Research Leadership Prize.

Bern is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Institute for Global Health at University College London and is completing a PhD in clinical pharmacology of TB drugs at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
