Biography

Erwan Piriou is currently the coordinator of the laboratory and NTD (neglected tropical diseases) team in MSF-OCA. He has been supporting implementation and maintenance of diagnostic services in more than 10 countries since joining MSF in 2011. Before this, he did research on immunology of co-infections, in particular between Epstein-Barr and HIV (in Amsterdam), and later Epstein-Barr and malaria (in Western Kenya). He decided to join MSF out of interest to work in the area of clinical diagnostics, closer to actual patient care.
