Biography

Dr. Bryan Gonzales is Associate Professor of Human Nutrition at Ghent University in Belgium, and Senior Scientist at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He has a PhD in Applied Biosciences, majoring in Chemistry and he uses his skills in laboratory sciences to understand the molecular mechanisms driving clinical outcomes of children in vulnerable populations, especially those with severe malnutrition. In 2016, he conducted a study funded by MSF on the pathophysiology of kwashiorkor in collaboration with Ghent University, MSF and Epicentre. He is also involved in several research projects on the reformulation of RUTF.
