Biography
Rebecca M. Coulborn has a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, with a focus on International and Global Health, from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Christian University. Prior to joining her current employer, Epicentre, in 2015, she worked as a field epidemiologist with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in numerous countries and as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso. Rebecca also coordinated clinical research at the University of Michigan to advance the understanding of causes of health inequalities and interventions and policies to overcome disparities. Furthermore, as a component of her work at the Tarrant County Public Health Department, she facilitated community partnerships leading to the establishment of the first four-county collaborative Medical Reserve Corps in the US for surge-capacity emergency preparedness. In the last ten years, Rebecca has been deployed to the field more than ten times as an MSF Intersectional Epidemiology Coordinator for the emergency Ebola response in Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda.
