Wendelin has recently joined Epicentre in 2023, where he works as a principal investigator for a study on the performance, use and integration of rapid diagnostic tests into choler surveillance in DRC and Niger.
Before joining Epicentre, he was several years on Missions as field epidemiologist with MSF switzerland and part of the emergency team. He was involved in the response to several disease outbreaks, as e.g., measles, Ebola, cholera, Hepatitis E, COVID-19 in Nigeria, Sudan, Uganda and DRC. Wendelin holds a PhD from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Basel, Switzerland, where he was principal investigator in several clinical and epidemiological studies, investigating new drugs and combinations against soil-transmitted helminths.
