Médard Djedanem

Medard Djedanem, based in Niger, is an epidemiologist who earned his PhD from Nazi Boni University in Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso). He joined Epicentre in 2024, and since his arrival, he has coordinated the Alerte Niger project, which aims to strengthen the early detection of disease outbreaks and improve the speed of response. As part of the reactive meningitis vaccination campaigns in Niger in 2024, he also coordinated a study evaluating the effectiveness of the Men5CV vaccine under real-world conditions. He is currently coordinating a research project assessing the impact of the Men5CV vaccine on Neisseria meningitidis carriage in Niger, thereby contributing to the generation of essential data to guide public health policies.
