Bangladesh: One person in five infected with hepatitis C in Rohingya refugee camps, but no access to diagnosis or treatment

Nearly 20 per cent of Rohingya refugees tested in the camps of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, have an active hepatitis C infection. This is the finding of a recent study carried out by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Epicentre. This alarming figure highlights the consequences of decades of inadequate healthcare and difficult living conditions, characterised by violence, discrimination and insecurity.
