A survey conducted by Epicentre reveals extremely critical levels of malnutrition in north-western Nigeria. In some areas, levels of global acute malnutrition have doubled since last year, when the situation was already considered dire. The survey was conducted on 2,066 children of three local government areas (LGA) of Katsina State, in collaboration with Katsina State Ministry of Health. Aid in this region has never been enough to meet the needs and is now decreasing even further. Without an immediate and massive increase in this aid, the year 2025 promises to be even more deadly.

In the district of Tondo, a very poor and densely populated area of Manila in the Philippines, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has introduced innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted radiography technology to enhance tuberculosis detection in the community. A parallel study conducted by Epicentre assessed the feasibility and acceptability of this approach, now recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for screening adults aged 15 and over.
